Road trip to Prince Edward Island

Day 5 - Saint John, New Brunswick to Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

We slept with the window open. Temperatures in the upper 50s and rain. It was a tiny bit of heaven. Then eggs for breakfast - compliments of the chickens!

It's Canada Day! The 150 mark. It's a rainy day for celebration!
After 1820 miles, we have arrived!

Day 4 - June 30 - Hartford, CT to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada

The sun rose at 5.19 AM so we were up by 5.40! We are definitely getting an early start! We blew through CT, MA, NH, and ME. The temperature has dropped to 69 degrees at noon. We are loving it!

Our Airbnb is fabulous! We are on a 120 year old farm that has been renovated. We have a dog, a cat, goats, and chickens! Our hostess is great too!

Day 3 - June 29 - Harrisburg, PA (state capital) to Hartford, CT (state capital)

We started our day at Hershey Park. We took the free tour - which is a ride with animation (similar to Monster Plantation ride at Six Flags). It explained the chocolate making process. We got a miniature chocolate bar at the end. We enjoyed it!

At a rest stop in NY

We visited Elizabeth Park in CT. There is a rose garden full of blooming roses on arches, in rows, and just scattered about. Other flowers were blooming as well. Alan likes the purple ones.

This was our 2nd Airbnb location.

We were very close to the Mark Twain house. It was closed when we drove by, but it looks amazing from the outside.

Hartford has a beautiful capital!

Day 2 - Wednesday, June 28, 2017 - NC had beautiful flowers along the highway and mountain views. When we reached VA, the mountain views dominated. Everything was very green. We saw a lot of silos in the rural landscape. We drove thru a part of West Virginia and Maryland before landing in PA. Our first Airbnb was in a sketchy neighborhood. It was an urban setting, which I'm not used to. But it had a deck and a dog - Sweet Pea.

Alan went for a walk in Harrisburg, PA and saw wildlife. Looks like a groundhog.
Tuesday, June 27, 2017 - We leave Atlanta headed for Charlotte on our big adventure.

The Billy Graham Library on the way to Greg's house. We took a tour because we thought it was self guided. It was only partially self guided! But it was beautiful and had a wonderful message.

Alan, Greg (Pot), and Deana

Audrey and Greg - our gracious hosts. We talked. We reminisced. We laughed. We laughed more. Even though we hadn't had a face to face visit in decades, time melted. My face couldn't stop smiling and my heart rejoiced.

Alan and Greg - graduation June 1983 at Georgia Southern. Lifelong friends are the best!
